Improper Cementing Procedure |
Use recommended cement. Stir thoroughly before each use. Coverage
should be adequate and even. Allow enough drying time. |
| Incorrect Buffing Procedures |
Buff to even RMA 1 Texture. Do not expose cords of radial ply. Avoid
scorching surface on interior of tyre. |
| Insufficient Cleaning |
Patch area should be cleaned of all contaminating lubricants etc. prior to buffing. |
| Incorrect Installation |
Keep tyre beads in normal parallel position when installing patch. Stitch
down patch evenly and thoroughly to avoid trapped air under patch. |
Contamination |
Use only fresh materials. Maintain clean working habits and working
area. Store materials per manufacturers recommendations. |
Overcure/Undercure |
Stick to appropriate curing time and curing temperature. |
Inferior or Incorrect Patch |
Use only recommended brand, size and type of patch appropriate for
the type & size of tyre and damage. |
Poor Fitting Repair Equipment |
Avoid using inappropriately sized mandrels, air bags or heat pads. |
Inferior Materials |
Use only high quality materials compatible with the patches and repair
system being used. Do not exceed recommended shelf-life. |
