Precise design, the finest quality raw materials and first-class manufacturing processes ensure Monaflex Heat Pads are durable however the longevity of any product depends on how it is used and maintained.

Take a look at our best practice guidelines to ensure your Monaflex Heat Pads reach their potential.

Do…

  • Always dust Monaflex Heat pads for optimum performanceConsult your application chart to ensure the correct Heat Pad is in use for the tyre size.
  • Check the Heat Pad will sufficiently cover the repair area. There should be at least 2” between the edge of the repair and the edge of the Heat Pad.
  • Always liberally apply “talc powder, french chalk or silicone spray” on both sides of the heat pad prior to use. This will eliminate friction between the tyre and the Heat Pad.
  • Pre-heat Heat Pads to 50ºC (122ºF) before installing in the tyre – this will maximise flexibility.
  • Position the Heat Pad as instructed on the label i.e. the label side goes against the tyre side with the arrows pointing towards the bead.
  •  Always pack out tyre lugs with suitable fillers to level the surface before installing the outside Heat Pad in the tread area. Monaflex offer a selection of convenient tread void fillers and for Agricultural tyre specialists AG lug filler Heat Pads.
  • Store unused Heat Pads flat in a dry, temperate environment.

Don’t…

  • Don’t lift the Heat Pads by the leads as this will damage the control cables; always lift using either the handles or finger holes.
  • Do not position the Heat Pad higher than the bead as the sharp edge of the bead can cut into the body of the Heat Pad when pressure is applied.
  • Only use Monaflex products, (cylinder airbags, flat airbags, control panels) with Monaflex Heat Pads to ensure optimum cures and to avoid voiding your warranty.
